DELEGATION

Cross-chain wallet heritage

Atomex was built around hybrid atomic-swap technology: a way to exchange assets across two chains without a custodian holding both sides. It relies on Hash Time-Locked Contracts (HTLC) — a shared secret and a time limit keep the trade honest.

STEP 01

Lock

Both parties lock funds into HTLCs on their respective chains, bound to the same secret hash.

STEP 02

Verify

Each side confirms the counterpart contract on-chain before revealing anything.

STEP 03

Redeem / Refund

Revealing the secret redeems both sides. If the timelock expires first, each party is refunded.

Status note. The Atomex atomic-swap exchange was announced as suspended in 2023. This section describes the protocol as Atomex heritage, not as a live trading service. Self-custody wallet features are separate from the exchange.
